Inspired by the mustang Star the artist works with at a local rescue, Santora completes the image in one 'sitting'. After the textured surface she created with gesso and a palette knife dries, Santora draws the image in graphite and pastel.
Next she dribbles 2-3 colors of paint, and working while it is still wet, she blends and moves paint around selectively and intuitively with a brush and her hands, wiping and spraying, and tipping the board to allow the paint to run in different directions.
