Coloring Outside the Lines - a Blog -

Lately, I have been doing a lot of blind contour drawing. To create blind contour drawings, you place your drawing implement on your drawing surface, and once you do, you do not lift it , and you do not look at the paper. Let your eyes follow the edges of the shapes as your drawing implement moves on the drawing surface.   Blind contour drawing was a technique used by both Matisse and Picasso. It enhances observational skills, hand-eye coordination, and fosters "right-brain" focus on form rather than detail.
