This collection of horse paintings is also inspired by my horses. Often the artwork is monochromatic dominated by shades of gray, black, and white. They may feature faint, abstract outlines of horses, collaged images of gel prints I made, rendered with loose, expressive brushstrokes. Backgrounds are textured with layered, overlapping patterns including geometric shapes, creating a complex, almost misty environment that blends into the figures of the horses. The compositions evoke a sense of mystery and ethereality, combining abstraction with recognizable form.

Hidden Horses are 'found' in random paint applications of paint, mark-making, and collage, and others are inspired by cave art, Matisse cut-outs, and petroglyphs. More can be found under the Collage & Book Arts collection.
