I did a multi-media layer under-painting on 200lb 22"x30" watercolor paper - limited palette of orange, medium violet, Paynes gray and white on the textured gessoed surface with multiple brush strokes, paint applied with other tools, ink, charcoal, pencil and collage... The image was then cut into 6-10"x10" pieces and turned in all directions until a pleasing base composition was chosen. Then the next layers applied. In this piece, a herd of horses emerged. Tulips and Blooms Art Junk Journal

‘Tulips and Blooms’ - One of a kind, hand-made, tulip and flower inspired Art Junk Journal. Assorted materials were used including recycled, repurposed, altered or handmade papers. The cover is made with a recycled muffin mix box covered with handmade, rice paper embellished with a collage. It has a hand-bound pamphlet-stitch spine with assorted glass beads. The book measures 6.5 inches high by 5.25 inches wide and 1.5 inches thick with 4 signatures of 7 sheets each for a total of 28 sheets, creating 112 plus pages. Images include plenty of tulips, calla lilies, sunflowers, magnolias, and more… Filled with 22 original collages and paintings, prints of my original [...]
